Matthew’s primary emphasis within the group is identifying opportunities to mitigate risk from the markets. His focus is highlighting various strategies and techniques to align the client’s investment objectives with their stated risk tolerance. He also serves in an advisory capacity for the group to their institutional clients including banks and credit unions.
Matthew is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business Executive Education Program. He holds his Certified Fund Specialist® (CFS®) designation and is a member of the Fixed Income Analysts Society. Matthew is a frequently quoted source in major global financial media outlets such as: Wall Street Journal, Fortune, Forbes, BusinessWeek, Bloomberg, MarketWatch and Smart Money.
As a graduate of West Virginia University, he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and communications. He is a member of West Virginia University’s Marmaduke Dent Society and an Ambassador to the school. Matthew is currently serving an appointed term by the Massachusetts Governor to the board of the MA Advisory Council on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). and served as an appointed board member of the Massachusetts Cultural Council as well. In addition, he is a former member of the board of the Pittsfield Co-operative Bank, Country Club of Pittsfield, Lenox Library Association, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Berkshire County and Trustee of Berkshire Housing, Inc.
Prior to his work in the securities industry, he worked in Washington D.C. with lobbyist and legislators across the country helping to educate them on a wide range of legislative issues.
Matthew and his wife Hannah live in Lenox, MA with their three children.
